Hazmat Hazards Response and Emergency Management
This course is for anyone who may be assigned a role in the field of incident and emergency management. This course is especially suitable for those responsible for Hazmat (Hazardous materials)/Hazards management.
This course provides participants with what they need to know and must know about incident and emergency response and management, Hazmat/Hazard recognition and management, and chemical detection, monitoring and sampling.
This course is suitable for Occupational Safety and Health Practitioners, Security/Facilities/Environmental/Risk/Production/Operations Managers, Business Continuity Officers/Managers, Loss Adjusters. Personnel with Responsibilities in Public Safety/Industrial Management/Industrial Engineering/Emergency Services (Fire, Police and Civil Defence)/Specialist Search and Rescue.
Understand the main incident command system (ICS) functions and their role and responsibilities during an incident or emergency
Understand the basics of risk management
Understand the dangers to health and safety from HAZMAT and Hazards and risk controls
Understand the pathway of HAZMAT toxins to your body
Be able to clearly communicate information and data obtained at an incident
Be able take command, control and co-ordinate an incident or emergency
Know the key things in SDS which are most important for First Response and Emergency Management
Know when, where and how to use chemical detectors and monitors for informed decision making
Know the pitfalls associated with chemical detectors and technology
On successful completion of this course, a Certificate of Particpation will be issued
