Course Overview

Effective Safety Leadership helps to build a positive Safety culture and contribute to reducing work related injuries and fatalities.

Management is not the same as leadership. Managers and Supervisors can and should be leaders, but leaders can also be trusted and respected workers such as Safety and Health Representatives.

Leaders have the ability to positively influence the behaviour of others.

This course will enhance the participants understanding of Safety Leadership and help to develop their leadership skills to improve and manage safety in the workplace.

Participants will gain an awareness and understanding of;

• Qualities of an effective leader

• Understanding various leadership styles

• Importance of positive communication and people skills

• Principles of effective leadership in work health and safety
