Elect Training & Consulting specialise in Workplace Health and Safety. Led by Director, Mark Small who has over 15 years in the industry, our goal is to provide our clients with the tools they need to reduce risk and create a safer, healthier work place. Achieving a safe work place is critical for business, not only to survive but to thrive.

Our courses run throughout the year and cover all aspects of safety in the work place.

Elect's trainers and consultants are specialists in their fields, be it maritime, mining, psychology, meteorology, dangerous goods, safety systems or mental health.

Our specialists are able to support your workplace through many aspects of safety through safety training, WorkSafe Plan assessments, risk assessments, accident investigations and more.

Our People

Mark Small

Mark is the Director and Founder of Elect Training & Consulting. Mark has a strong back ground in Education, Safety, Maritime and Corporate Governance. This background influences the services offered by Elect.

As a passionate Safety Professional Mark is truly driven to make workplaces safer and healthier.

He has a depth of safety experience having worked in a variety of safety related roles including Safety Coordinator, Marine HSE Specialist and as a Safety Trainer.

Mark has an impressive CV and as a passionate safety professional, he lists (amongst others!) the following achievements;

  • Current member and past committee member of the Safety Institute of Australia.

  • An experienced Mariner having previously held a Master Class III Certificate of Competency.

  • A life time of experience as a trainer having taught subjects as diverse as SCUBA Diving, Helicopter Underwater Escape Training, Fast Rescue Craft, and Occupational Health and Safety.

  • Mark has been and remains active in the oil and gas and the maritime industries. He has been a member of several industry associations and committees including the Australian Oil and Gas Conference Committee and the National Domestic Vessel Advisory Committee.

  • Mark is a life member of the Petroleum Club of Western Australia. He previously served two three-year terms on the board and was twice elected President.

  • Highly commended by the Fremantle Chamber of Commerce for outstanding personal achievement in 2016.

  • In 2017 Mark was awarded life membership to the Petroleum Club of Western Australia.

It’s not only professional success that drives Mark, community service has been an important part of his life since joining a surf lifesaving club as a child in 1977.

Marks past community service includes Chair of his children’s primary school council, Chair of the Fremantle Mission to seafarers, President of the Applecross Toast Masters Club, Treasurer of the WA Branch of the Company of Master Mariners and Secretary of the WA Branch of Nautical Institute.

Mark is currently the immediate past Chair of the Leeuwin Ocean Adventure Foundation which operates the sail training Ship, Leeuwin II. The Leeuwin Foundations helps develops qualities of leadership, independence, initiative and self-discipline in the youth of Western Australia through the provision of an adventure sail training scheme utlising a traditional sailing ship.

The Liberty Training and Conference Centre

The training centre at 197 St Georges Terrace provides a state-of-the-art training facility in an incredibly convenient Perth CBD location.

The Liberty Training and Conference Centre provides purpose-built rooms that have been cleverly designed to provide customisable spaces.

The training rooms can be reconfigured to deliver a myriad of layouts and are ideal for in-house corporate training courses.


The Jakovich Centre

State of the art training facilities, on-site café and plenty of space for parking.

Located at the main entrance to the prestigious Australian Marine Complex (AMC) in Henderson this architecturally designed state-of-the-art training centre is considered by many to be the best of its type south of the Perth CBD.

Technology Park Function Centre

Technology Park Function Centre is nestled in the lush parkland setting of Technology Park Bentley. This professional, well equipped training venue is located just 6 kilometres from Perth CBD and opposite Curtin University.

The venue has an on Site Café and free parking in large nearby car park.
